Welcome Message
Dear Colleagues:
On behalf of the Organizing and Program Committees, I am pleased to inform you of the 111th Scientific Meeting of the Japan Society of Medical Physics (JSMP). This meeting will be held from April 14 to 17, 2016 at the Pacifico Yokohama Convention Center in Yokohama City, Japan, in conjunction with the 75th Annual Meeting of the Japan Radiological Society (JRS), the 72nd Scientific Congress of the Japanese Society of Radiological Technology (JSRT), and the International Technical Exhibition of Medical Imaging (ITEM) 2016.
The main theme of the joint congress (JRC2016) is “Instructive, Innovative, and Integrative Radiology,” focusing on recent advances in medical physics and predictions for future progress in medical physics.
The meeting will feature joint symposia with the JRS and JSRT, plenary and educational lectures by distinguished medical physicists, an international symposium on medical physics, and scientific sessions for forefront researchers. The scientific program will cover all areas of medical physics, which are related to the prevention, diagnosis and therapy of disease.
There will be approximately 200 presentations, including the joint symposia and plenary lectures and talks, and approximately thirty percent of the presentations will be given in English. We would also like to announce that members of the Asia-Oceania Federation of Organizations for Medical Physics (AFOMP), whose abstracts are accepted, will be treated as invited speakers and receive support regarding the registration fee.
We hope this meeting serves as a platform for the continuous evolution of all participants, increase cooperation across countries, and boost the mutual development of medical physics and cultural exchange around the world.
With regard to ITEM 2016, exhibits by at least 140 companies will display the latest radiology equipment and devices. In addition, a banquet is arranged as a social program on the second day of the meeting.
We sincerely hope that you can join us in making the 111th JSMP meeting a complete success.
Yours faithfully,
Fujio Araki, Ph.D.
Congress Chair of the 111th JSMP Meeting
