Summary｜The 127th Scientific Meeting of the Japan Society of Medical Physics

Welcome Message

127回大会長　The 127th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society of Medical Physics (JSMP) will be held jointly with the 83rd Annual Meeting of the Japan Radiological Society (JRS), the 80th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society of Radiological Technology (JSRT), and the Japan Industries Association of Radiological Systems (JIRA) International Technical Exhibition of Medical Imaging (ITEM2024) under JRC2024 organized by the Japan Radiology Society (JRC). The theme of JRC2024 is “Leading an Era of Transformation. This theme expresses enthusiasm for taking radiology one step further in research and development to lead the way toward a new era in which innovative technologies, such as deep learning and quantum computing, are being developed in rapidly changing times requiring new and innovative ideas.
　The Japan Society of Medical Physics is an independent society from the Physics Division of the Japan Radiological Society, and has developed as a forum for discussing science and engineering related to radiation medicine. At previous conferences, participants report cutting-edge findings in their respective fields of expertise and receive valuable opinions from experienced researchers, thereby further developing their research, and the conference also functions as a place where new research seeds are born through the exchange of ideas. We hope to provide a forum for full discussion at this conference as well.
　When looking ahead to the next 10 years and beyond, the dream-like discussions discussed at this conference may become a reality. We hope that you will present the results of your research at this conference and discuss the future of radiation medicine that has not yet been achieved. The restrictions caused by COVID-19 have finally been cleared, and the conference is beginning to regain its original form, thus we hope that you will visit the conference venue and make use of it as a place to gather information and interact with others. In view of the need to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the conference will be held in a hybrid style of on-site and webcast.
